This 1989's release nicely wraps up the decade with a beautiful example of the 80s light pop/rock sound. One of the things that makes this album stand out from the crowd is the ingenious addition of mariachi horns (reminiscent of The Tijuana Brass) on tracks like "It's Only Make Believe," (a remake of the 1958 Conway Twitty hit & my personal fav). "Manzanar," a song about the Japanese prison camp, further demonstrates the intelligence of the album. I found it's lilting melodies perfect for playing while working in my store after hours.
