Eve's Plum's CHERRY ALIVE is one of the best, forgotten CD's of the 90's. It stands as one of the finest examples of "alternapop".

Lead singer Colleen Fitzpatrick began her career as an actress, appearing in John Waters film HAIRSPRAY, before becoming part of the group. This was the groups second album (their previous CD ENVY wasn't as good as this one).

The group would have a big MTV and radio hit with "Jesus Loves You (but not as much as I do)". As good a single as that song was, it isn't even the best of the CD.

The CD is filled with terrific songs, "Wishing the Day Away", the title track "Cherry Alive" which had a brief run on the radio, "Lipstuck" (probably the funniest and catchiest song ever written about someone mistaking a glue stick for lipstick), and several others.

Unfortunately, the album didn't make as big as an impact as they should have. Soon after the release of this CD, Colleen would go on her own, changing her name and image, and becoming "Vitamin C". It was a rather big shock to the alternative music scene. I'm still trying to get over it.

But, CHERRY ALIVE still sounds great. One of the best CDs of the 90's that you have probably never heard.
