Reviews

I guess a lot of people out there do not understand the concept of this album. This is not an album produced or arranged by Jamiroquai. No Jay Kay vocals - nothing like that. No, this album merely REFLECTS the ROOTS of the Jamiroquai sound. Listen to it in that mindset and you won't be disappointed. Take for instance the cut by Ramsey Lewis, "Whisper Zone". You can't tell me you don't hear elements of this song in Jamiroquai's music. I would have given this album a full 5 stars, but one of my favorite tracks on the album was not converted over in the best possible quality. That track is "Girl, I Think the World About You" by The Commodores. You can hear this song's influence on many of Jamiroquai's cuts. Unfortunately, it's pretty fuzzy on this album. Other than that, I have no issues with it. It's cool to be able to explore the roots of someone's sound. If you are a true Jamiroquai fan or a fan of acid jazz in general I think you'll find it quite funky!
