Ok, I cannot bear to read anything negative about this woman when regarding her recordings; there are without doubt some low moments, but this is true of any artist who has survived over 45 yrs in this business!!! As a lifelong fan/devotee of Ronnie's, DANGEROUS is worth its price simply for the gorgeous B-side "Baby, Please Don't Go" . Ronnie's voice never sounded better and it is truly one of her shining moments, right next to her signature song. This cd was NOT intended to be "the definitive" Ronnie, of course; that would be nearly impossible considering all the labels this woman recorded on. But, it is certainly a valuable piece of the pie! DANGEROUS is simply her 1987 "Unfinished Business" recording with some delectable 70's bonus tracks. Misguided song selections and dated production are its minuses, but it still has its very fine moments: namely "Love on a Rooftop", the sentimental "When We Danced" and the joyous-romp, "Good Love Is Hard to Find". Another true-treasure on this compilation is Ronnie's duet with Southside Johnny, on the studio version of "You Mean So Much To Me", (from the debut Asbury Jukes LP, 1976). It is an oft-forgotten delight of a song, and not easy to find. It is perfect, and ranks with her very best recordings! New fans who really want the complete recorded-journey of Ronnie Spector have their work cut out for them, for sure; there is a 'rare' LP which is barely mentioned anywhere, that Ronnie cut in 1980 produced by Genya Ravan (Ten Wheel Drive) named "SIREN". It won't help the sales of DANGEROUS for me to expound on the righteousness of this missing gem of an LP, so go on and scour those record stores for it, because it hasn't been reborn digitally to my knowledge. But it is brilliant, and worth hunting for. Meanwhile, DANGEROUS is a must-have until the day comes when an 'ultimate-Ronnie' cd is made, which may never happen. Ronnie is an icon for good reasons, but what is not known by those who have never seen her perform, is how much this woman absolutely loves singing for us. Her enthusiasm is boundless and in return, we are captivated in her spell for musical eternity. Ronnie Rules!!
