I first heard Zebrahead four years ago, and I was amazed at a pop/punk/rap band that did not annoy me to death. As I listened to their first two albums they grew on me, and became one of my favorite modern acts.
Embarrassingly, I did not even know they had put out a third album until a few months ago when I heard "Falling Apart" and "Alone" on the soundtrack to Day of Reckoning, a WWE video game. I did recognize them immediately, though, and eventually I got around to buying this album.
They definitely went a little more along the "pop" route with this effort but it doesn't cheapen or dull the experience in any way. I thoroughly enjoyed every song, as they are all the high-energy glory that makes this band what it is.
One thing that disappointed me, though, would be the lack of guitar solos. Like I said, it's not exactly a bad thing, but especially after solos such as those in "Waste of Mind," "the Real Me," and "In My Room," I miss them.
