I see nothing degrading in this song, only old extremist-feminist women can think this way about the artistic message of a song. Please dont mix the private life of the artist with his message! And dont hide your identity, you must have the courage to sustain it!
I think the song is beautifull, and the B&W image is very appropriate to the subject.

I think that this song is stupid and she is acting like a dang fool she really needs to check her self and become a lady.
This song is degrading. Don't get it twisted, it is not okay to be any man's suga mama. Regardless of how good the sex is. First of all Beyonce ain't nobodies suga mama. Come on now her man is Jay-Z. I like Beyonce, but some of her songs are ridiculous. What happened to Bills, Bills, Bills, Soliders, Independent Women, and her other songs that helped women to feel good about themselves and should some self worth. Beyonce don't believe that sh** or she would be dating a bum. The worst part is that she's advocating stupid behavior of women (or should i say immature young ladies). A real woman knows that there is no need to be a suga mama and a real man wouldn't want you to be his suga mama. So go on ahead and keep saying "i love this song" and "this song is tight", but don't wonder why you can't find a good man.
i like that she starts off like a pimp smokin her cigar like snoop then she starts to dance on the pole
This is my very favorite song on the B-Day CD (the first one) I do have the Deluxe also.
The video though leaves a lot to be desired.
To me this song is of strength and power of my own mind but its being portrayed as the way men see things
The strippers pole to me has always indicated weakness, using body over brains which sooo many woman do
It would be a far better video if it showed more how strong women feel apposed to the way men do.
Beyonce -I love ya no matter what- and I can see how other artist use your style and words (now with Belly's new song even you voice is being duplicated by those two girls)to advance them selves (Riana's video with J-Z has nearly the same back round as Get Me Bodied? I wonder if thats intentional or just the same director, anyway I never have liked Riana's music (no offense she's just not my style)
I hope to catch your concert here in Vancouver B.C.
Always
Angel
This song is great. It was the very first song I LOVED on your B-Day CD
I'm not so sure on the video though.
The strip pole always reminds me of a weak thoughtless woman who needs a body not brains to survive and we all have bodies.
This is a strong song and needs to be portrayed as being a strong woman of which I know you are.
My suggestion is to not use a males point of view because they may not find the song up their alley, but a womans point of view may sell the song *GO AHEAD AND SHOCK THE WORLD AGAIN* We need it
THIS SONG ROCKS the video seems to be lacking the true way I feel(as a woman) which is strong.
Thank you for letting me jot down my thought Beyonce Keep up the great work
Lot of Love from a huge fan -Angel Salo
I think that it is brilliant and excellent, she has done another brilliant song.
First of all, the only similarities this video had to Mya's, "My Love is Like Woah" video is the fact that they are both smoking in the beginning while wearing pimpish manly outfits. I assume that many people have done this before. I believe it is something called, acting like a man. How did she steal Mya's ideas? Also, the only other similarities in the two videos is the dancing, and the pole. Mya did not act like stripper, which Beyonce did on her video. Mya twirled around the pole once leading to her tap dance break. So, tell me one more time how Beyonce stole Mya's ideas. I look at both of them and do not sense the mockery. Grow up people! Also, in these days, it is really hard to come up with original, authentic video concepts. Almost everything has been done before. I'm sure Mya was not the ORIGINATOR of a woman wearing a pimp suit and smoking a cigar. C'mon, geez.
This video is very similar to Mya's "My love is like whoa!" that was released at the same time the Beyonce's first album- Dangerously in Love. Nice twist- love the monologue.
Most of the songs on this album sucks, her last album was much better. This song is disgrading to women, I mean come on your singing about being a grow man suga mama, he already has a mama let him be a man. This gives younger listeners the wrong idea, your saying its ok to take care of a man, what ever happen to you taking care of each other. You have really fell of B, you went from being classy to trashy. Get a grip girl!
