Bob Dylan is to written poetry & song writing as Albert Einstein was to physics.

One of the most covered songs - slow and alone or "en mass", th eversions all add value to our feelings. Bob Dylan's work covers a wide range of ideas - mortality is, and has become even more so recently, a central theme. Dylan helps us all in coming to terms with life's issue of death - with this and much of his more recent works. His metaphs reflect barriers, life cycles and support systems in a way that communicates more effectively than any dry tome might. Thanks.

I am a 1957 baby and grew up wanting to see Bob Dylan perform before I died. I would have loved to have seen him in the '70s. I did finally get to see him in the mid '90s. He is the GREATEST! Bob Dylan is my all time favorite artist! Thank you, Bob Dylan, for all the wonderful music and lyrics all these years, and thank you, God, for giving us Bob Dylan.

I was born in 1956. I like the new term mid-century modern, that is me. It sounds cool and it takes attention away from the wrinkles around my eyes and the hard to ignore lack of need for a belt with my favorite levis.
That said it is impossible for me to watch this DYLAN video with out thinking about Frank Sinatra. I was raised on Sinatra and everytime he did a song it was different. Not always good but different. Most of the times with Frank, or Mr. Sinatra as our parents may have refered to him, it may have had more to do with how much 'booze' he had consumed. OK, same with the Bob. Both genius, no question, both legends, given. Don't get me wrong, I will die happy I lived in a time that gave the world both Bob and Frank, but when you see a video like this that has nothing to do with the original music, and is so difficult to even compare to the original song, my mid-century mind drifts back to martini scented nights.
THAT SAID,, BOB DYLAN'S NEW ALBUM "MODERN AGE" IS BRILLIANT. It gives those of us creative 50 somethings , something to live up to.
Well done Bob!!!!!!!
Meet me in the morning, 56th and Wabisha!
