So now we're into the eighties and Brucey seems to be influenced by the music scene that's going on around him, on his Born in the USA album which I like less than his earlier stuff. But I still love Bruce Springsteen

The video has its flaws, but I can not believe the previous review by Rosamund. I thought everyone knew by now that "Born In The U.S.A." is not what you would call a patriotic song. That was Reagan's mistake (so many of them). Bruce is denouncing what this country does to its young people by sending them off to war and using them to prosecute the desires of the elite. It is relevant today because we allowed this negligent administration of Bush and Cheney to send our young people to war for their gain. How about those cut and runners Haliburton. They, with the help of Cheney, suckered us out of a great deal of tax payer money and moved to Dubai. Where is the outcry? We are still sending poor boys to fight rich men's wars. It is a lousy situation, and Bruce sings about all of the soldiers that have been hood-winked into believing they are fighting for a just cause and come back with nothing to show for it. So many of our homeless are veterans; I wonder why--so does Bruce. That is what this song is about, Rosamund.

Bruce brings much energy to this patriotic song. He seems to want to convince his audience that, yes, he was born in the U.S.A. A lot of energetic effort in this song. Not as powerful as The River where he tells a story and brings it to life just as if he had lived through that story. Not too much distraction by movement or music being too loud in The River. Loved it. Born in The U.S.A. was okay. I'm sure he can bring more creation and new songs. Come on....R.

This song should be played nightly before the national news to remind the world that the U.S. needs to get out of Iraq. This song could have been written yesterday. Its timeless.

Still as politically relevant as it was when it was released. The Boss in full, understated glory.
