One of the most insiteful tunes I have heard in a long time. Says it all without over stating the obvious. I have been WAITING for an anthem for my generation and now I have found it. Thanks.

I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST! Not only HIS best, but one amongst only a handful of the best I've heard in the last decade! WHY ARE PEOPLE SAYING THIS SONG WAS ALREADY DONE BY ANOTHER ARTIST? YOU ALL SEEM SO SURE OF YOURSELVES ~ YET YOU SAY IT WAS 2 DIFFERENT ARTISTS AND WITH DIFFERENT TITLES. Shame on YOU, not on John Mayer! Ya know what I think? I think you just don't agree with his statement and are politically magnetic. I applaud him for using his voice (and music) to take a stand - ANY stand! Especially during a time when others his age and most of his audience are complacent and/or apathetic. The way I understand the lyrics to this song; and I may be wrong - but that's ok because I am still getting a charge out of it even if it is in my own mistaken way. That's part of the point. We live in a democracy and we have a right to our own opinions and we have both the right & responsibility to VOTE. IF YOU DON'T VOTE...DON'T COMPLAIN about "the way our world is today." You can do nothing and KEEP WAITING if you want, but even if our system doesn't work like it's supposed to ~ at least if you vote, then you tried. You did your part. WAITING doesn't accomplish anything!

This is a wonderfully writen song that deserves and praise it receives. However the video was a bit too bland for waht you were selling making it loose a star in my mind. I am a fan of john and I think he deserves more than a video that has been immitated from other artists such as black eye peas and children.

Furthermore, he's right in saying (singing) that its not a fair fight. The liberals don't fight fair because democrats and republicans don't fight against other Americans - just America's foes!

i've heard alot of john mayer lately, waiting on the world to change is clearly a rip off of people get ready (first noticed it when i watched the ARMS concort with jeff beck) but i still think john mayer is an excelent talent, his guitar playing and song writing skills (clearly im talking about the songs he actually did write) are great, also many of the great artists coppied other people, jimmy page did it, stevie ray vaughan did it, so did jeff beck, and alot of people are saying what a stevie ray vaughan clone john mayer is, i think he'll be legendary in another 10 years or so.

This song is a very bad copy of Curtis Mayfield´s "People get ready". I really don´t understand the low musical culture grade of people who don´t mention this in their reviews.
Maybe that´s why a guy who copies a whole song is still able to win a Grammy.
