I love this song and video! It reminds me of a song that could've been on Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."

"When you trust your television/What you get is what you got/'Cause when they own the information/They can bend it all they want."

Truer words were never spoken!

Okay, first off, if you don't own Continuum, run now and go get it! Secondly, this song is flawless--lyrically, musically and visually. I still wonder about what is being said in the background right before the guitar break, but wow, this guy is the best thing out there now. Timberlake can bring sexy back (not it ever left), but John Mayer brought great music back!

Anybody who knows music can recognize this song as a near note for
note rip off of the hit song, PEOPLE GET READY, which was covered
and raised to prominence by Rod Stewart.

Even in terms of lyric content, the song is somewhat of a rip off of PEOPLE
GET READY. In that renowned song, the listener is admonished to await "the train
that is a coming," just as Mayer urges his fan base to await a world
that he imagines will change for the better.

Even if Mayer's song were an original, it's a pretty pathetic song to be championed
by Mayer's socially INACTIVE generation. Never seen a generation that has
been so poor in terms of any form of social activism, they live to party and screw,
without a thought or care in the world. But I guess they're waiting for the world
to change, except the way the societal infrastructure is deteriorating, there may
not be a world (as they know it) awaiting them by the time they are ready to
get off their butts and take up a social cause.
