This video does a great job of displaying Mayer's own considerable guitar chops as well as the tight, high energy playing of the John Mayer Trio as a whole. There appears to be some real chemistry going on here and all three musicians are visibly having a great time. The whole feeling is contagious and you can't help but smile at the end of the video!
Who Did You Think I Was and indeed the entire Try album (not to mention his appearances at Eric Clapton's Crossroads benefit concerts) demonstrate that Mayer is just as comfortable performing in a blues-rock style as he is writing catchy pop songs. And he does both very, very well...
