Steve Perry ...when I was 17 in 1981 I would listen to him sing like a sweet charmer...I was so fascinated with his singing voice and talent,,,To this day,,I am 45 yrs old..and I still love listening to Steve and Journey..brings back so many good memories..I feel that bands back in the 80s were the most talented..I grew up on this music and I will always treasure the great songs that Journey put out...They Rock!!!

STEVE PERRY IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE VOICE OF JOURNEY, EVERY TIME THIS CD IS ALWAYS PLAYING ON MY CAR CD PLAYER, AND THIS SONG PLAYS REPEATLY, LOVE IT, THAT VOICE IT IS MAGIC , IT GOES STRAIGHT TO THE SOUL, YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING TOGETHER, PURE MAGIC !!!!!!!! JOURNEY FAN FOREVER

its the most perfect sound to dance to when i get married soon i just wish that steve perry would be there sing it in person. His voice is uplifting and makes u soul search he puts heart and soul and compassion.now im only 25 but i was raised on this music, I think that the man who took his place a horrible singer he will never be close to master the skill of steve perrys voice its one of a kind. THIS IS A CLASS BALLAD BY A TRULY CLASS BAND LED BY PROBABLY THE BEST VOICE EVER IN HIS CLASS!TO SUM JOURNEY AND STEVE UP IN ONE WORD "CLASS" ITS A PITY WE CANT HAVE ONE LAST PROPER BAND TOUR WHICH INCLUDES IRELAND OF COURSE

This has to be for me one,if not the best,cd song wise from cover to cover.Theres not a bad song on the whole cd!Ive been a journey fan since Infinity.Steve Perry's voice is a one of a kind.The reason he's still the one everyone wants to see back with journey(including me!)is for that reason.No other singer can even try to duplicate it.This song is a good example of how timeless his voice is.It was easy in 81' for him to sing "open arms" because the range was easy then.What makes him so unique is that when you hear "when you love a woman", he has the awsome ability to make you think your stil hearing that 81' voice.(with more maturity).For me,Escape is my fav. song,but this is right up there with Escape.

That voice... I can't imagine seeing Journey without Steve Perry, he sang those songs to me growing up, going through loves and losses... What a great video, and how sad, that this band can't get back together and do a final tour. Alot of old bands are, but I think the reception for Journey everywhere would be amazing! BUT they need to include Steve, they didn't do right by him before, and he is a huge part of what made Journey successful.

The most bittersweet of the Journey videos. The video was the promise of other videos unmade and a tour undone. This one always leaves me wondering why Journey couldn't have made more videos for Trial By Fire or started another album, and waited for Steve Perry to heal.

As to the ballad itself, it makes me tearful with pure joy each time I play it.
