I love this song how could anybody do something like that to their own daughter i coundn't imagine doing that to my daughter
Kellie,
It took many times of hearing this song before I could stopped crying. When you sang it on The View the tears started back. But to see you in person in Raleigh, NC and see the hurt in your eyes was just awful. I hate that you had to go through all this pain. However, I believe God gives us paths in life to make us the person he wants us to be. You have achieved many wonderful things in life and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Keep the small town girl in you and you will have a wonderful life. Traci, small town, NC

This is an awesome song. Everything I hear it, I get teary eyed. For whatever reasons your mom felt like, at the time, to abandon you,at that time in her life, I am sure she thought it was for the best, maybe to save your own life. As a mom myself, I can;t imagine a day going by without talking to my 35 year old daughter. I know deep down in your heart, you want to do the same. No matter what fame you have in life, how much money you have, how many friends you have out there, every girl needs a mom to talk to, even though they might not be able to see them. Ha, without her, you wouldn't be here and we won't be able to hear your beautiful voice. Maybe you need to be forgiving for whatever reasons she might have had at the time. I am sure this would be a wonderful day in your life and her's if you both could just become friends. A person can never forget but they can forgive. I am praying for you and your mom to become friends and be able to correspond with each other. You are such a beautiful person and I know you probably look just like her. Sincerely, Phyllis in Virginia
Wow! This is EXCELLENT!
Kellie,
this song makes me think of all the special times i had with my mom in 14 years. I can't immagin what my life would be like with out her in it! I am only 14 and would have no clue what to do if I was in your shoes. i love the song ! U ARE MY IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kellie,
Like yourself, I had no mom during high school prom, etc. and yes, I am also a North Carolina native. Charlotte to be exact. Your concert in Charlotte, July 21st was the best of the best! Your stage presence and incredible talent has all of your Carolina fans overwhelmed with JOY! We love you and as you said " North Carolina Rocks!"
By the way, with eyes closed....... we thought it was Dolly singing 9 to 5!!
We love you and will always, always support our Carolina girl. Even if you are in Tennessee!
God bless you and forever, embrace your "Bible Belt Roots!"
