BS'D
To you, I give a tremendous Kol a Kavod. I wish you could feel the effects you have on lost young souls who have given up on themselves, their life and naturally, their G-d. Your example of being true to G-d and being true to your craft is very powerful. More powerful than examples or lectures. We brought 10 boys to the Hammerstein concert. One was very hard core anti everything and came because it was that or prison for 1 month. He chose you, but not with a big smile. I kept him with me and watched as the opening act went on. No reaction! Then the lights dimmed and out you came. Having brought other unsuspecting lost souls to your concerts (The Barbie in TA etc.) I knew what he was thinking...WHAT TIME IS IT AND WHEN IS THE TORTURE GOING TO END!!!! when the lights came up and you stood there with pride with your black hat and tzitzis and you started singing in that pure Stratavarian voice and your clear blue eyes, the child started to hear. We let him walk to the rail with some of the other guys we brought and soon he was rockin' with the rest. He came back and sat for a second looking as though an angel had pulled all the negativity out of him. When you jumped on the speakers and starting grabbing men to dance, he went and when he came back, I knew that a small, but great hole was punctured in the vacuum of emptiness. It is only 3 short months later and he is a program for boys as he was. He is studying to be a mentor in Yerushalaim...and he has everyone of your songs on his iPod. I see him every Motzei Shabbos for a Malava Malka.
As one who has worked in Kiruv for 40 years, I have seen potential stars become famous. Most have stayed true to Ha Sh-m. The burden on your shoulders is great, but we are all praying for your success, because ultimately, when one brings a person back to the ways of
Ha Sh-m, we all benefit. I will leave you with a quote that a good friend of mine used to say before allowing people to go out into communities to do kiruv...; "Always remember who you are, no matter WHERE you are." That was Shlomo Carlebach OBM. Although I was frum when I met him, that was one bit of advice I never forgot.
Be careful....Sony wants your soul, as long as it is making profits. Make sure you see the nice people who pay you as a yetzer hora as well as employer. And mostly remember that beautiful gift you have was a gift from the One. I know you thank Him everyday for it, but when the yetzers-hora and tov are battleing on your shoulders, you can give me a call or email me. I am a formidable foe of the former Mr. Y. H.
But other wise, keep on keepin on.
I live just around the corner from you in Yerushalayim and hope Moshiach and I will see you Motzei Shabbos.
Respectfully, Rivka aka Mamamitzvah

the music video was good, don't get me wrong. But this song sounded way better in it's original form. It now lacks the intensity and raw power that the original had. This version sounds like it's is being played through a pop filter. I'm glad he is geting out there tho.

Not as good as original version, I was disapointed :(

I came across Matisyahu, whilst appearing offline on msn messenger and watching what buddies were listening to.
I download a file to see how it sounded and i loved it on first hearing, i think it was called "no water"
To me his style is a combination of old skool reggae, ska, and reggaeton.

just want to say ,it does matter who ,and what this country is for!. soorrrrryyyy to say ,that this country ,meaning the heart of it.jerusalem should be for you know what people.......i have read many reading and most nations agree for palestinians....but its the fact this coentry is soooo sacred and beutiful.why not just stop the warr and go in with what life is about.

this song is nice in my point of view, why not show everything else about jerusalem, like the old city and dome of the rock.
